Tips & tricks

What the Heck is an Airsled?

Moving heavy appliances without damaging floors—or your back—just got easy.
The Airsled Appliance Mover uses a thin cushion of air to float heavy loads, letting one person move hundreds of pounds safely and smoothly.

Think of it like an air hockey puck for your appliances — only smarter, stronger, and designed for real work.

How It Works

A pair of slim air beams slide under your appliance.
Once connected to the included blower, the system lifts and glides your load on air—no friction, no scratches, no struggle.

Choose Your Rental Model

  • Light Duty (450–650 lb) – For compact and standard appliances.
  • Standard Duty (750 lb) – Our most popular size for most residential jobs.
  • Heavy Duty (950 lb) – For luxury or commercial-grade equipment 48″ and wider.

Why Rent One

✅ Move heavy loads with ease
✅ Prevent floor damage and injury
✅ Reduce manpower needs
✅ Compact, fast setup, and easy transport

Aluminum vs. Steel Scaffolding - Which One Should You Rent?

The debate between aluminum and steel scaffolding has been going on for decades — but modern engineering has changed everything. Custers® has proven that aluminum can do what steel does — only faster, lighter, and smarter.

Heavy-Duty Performance in a Lightweight Design

Custers® aluminum scaffolding rivals steel in load capacity and rigidity while being up to 60 % lighter.
That means faster setup, easier repositioning, and less fatigue — without sacrificing industrial strength or safety.

If Aluminum Can Fly, It Can Lift

There’s a reason aircraft are built from aluminum.
Every day, aluminum airframes safely carry steel engines, tanks, and cargo, proving that true strength comes from precision engineering, not weight alone.

Custers® applies the same principle to scaffolding: reinforced welds, precision-fit joints, and wide stabilizers that deliver steel-level performance with unmatched maneuverability.

How to Choose the Right Heater for Your Project

Not all heaters are built for the same job. Whether you’re drying, heating, or thawing, choosing the right system can mean the difference between an efficient project and an expensive headache.

Here’s how to decide which heater suits your site — and why renting through the Arclight Rental Network® makes it simple.

1️⃣ Identify Your Space and Goal

Ask: What are you heating — people, materials, or air?

  • Direct-fired heaters deliver instant heat for open or well-ventilated spaces.
  • Indirect-fired heaters safely vent exhaust outdoors — perfect for enclosed or occupied spaces.
  • Electric heaters are ideal for small, clean environments where fuel and fumes aren’t allowed.

2️⃣ Know Your BTU Needs

Every heater has a BTU (British Thermal Unit) rating — the higher the number, the more heat output.
As a rule of thumb:

  • 100,000 BTU = small rooms or workshops
  • 250,000–400,000 BTU = medium spaces or restoration work
  • 500,000 BTU + = large sites, warehouses, or construction enclosures

Need help calculating? Our team can size it for you in minutes.

3️⃣ Choose the Right Fuel Source

  • Propane: Clean and portable for short-term use.
  • Diesel/Kerosene: Long runtime and rugged reliability outdoors.
  • Electric: No emissions, ideal for sensitive interiors.

Each option balances runtime, cost, and ventilation needs differently — and our network carries all three.

4️⃣ Consider Safety and Air Quality

For enclosed spaces or restoration projects, indirect-fired and electric models are the safest bet.
They deliver clean, dry heat without CO₂ buildup — keeping people, drywall, and materials safe.

5️⃣ Rent with Confidence

Through Arclight Access®, you can rent premium heaters from brands like Cantherm®, Campo®, and ASD®, ranging from electric spot units to diesel indirect-fired heaters over 1 million BTU.
Every rental is inspected, serviced, and ready to run on delivery.

Stay warm. Work smart. Save fuel.
